Eric R. Williams is a professor in the J. Warren McClure School of Emerging Communication Technologies at Ohio University, where he is also the director of the MFA in Communication Media Arts program. As co-creator of the Immersive Media Initiative, Eric has overseen dozens of VR cinema projects for the Game Research and Immersive Design (GRID) Lab. These projects are highlighted in a forthcoming book by Focal Press: Virtual Reality Cinema: Non-Fiction Projects and Procedures. Eric is also co-authoring a companion book titled VR Cinema: Narrative Tips and Techniques. Eric is one of the chief architects of the GRID Lab’s Virtual Reality curriculum. The curriculum was designed to bolster VR research at Ohio University – combining classroom learning with hands-on production experience on faculty-led projects.
