Dr. Justyna Świdrak
Justyna Świdrak, PhD, is a Barcelona-based psychologist specializing in virtual embodiment and its applications in health, environmental, and cross-cultural psychology. Her main research focus revolves around body ownership and body perception in fibromyalgia, with additional interests in other areas, such as virtual touch, climate change, cross-cultural VR, and biophilic design.
Currently, Justyna holds two positions that complement her interests. In Barcelona (Spain), she serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Experimental Virtual Environments for Neuroscience and Technology-IDIBAPS, under the guidance of Prof. Maria V. Sanchez-Vives and Mel Slater. She actively collaborates with experts in fibromyalgia from Hospital Clinic Barcelona. Additionally, she is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Psychology, Polish Academy of Sciences (Warsaw, Poland), where she completed her PhD in 2018.
Justyna's contributions to her field have been recognized through various grants and awards, including the prestigious Japanese Society for Promotion of Science Post-doctoral Fellowship.
