Barbara Weyn received her PhD in 1997 from the University of Antwerp, Belgium in the field of image analysis for oncology. After a post-doc at the University of Arizona, USA, she started a spin-off company from the University of Antwerp that made image analysis software for high content screening for the pharmaceutical industry. Since 2009, she has been with the University of Leuven. Belgium, where she is innovation manager of the Medical Image Research Centre. In this position, she manages and valorises late-stage R&D through projects with industry or the creation of new spin-offs. The research includes, among others, the use of XR for Health.
