Bola Akinrolabu is the Program Manager for the XRts Initiative at the Media and Immersive
eXperience (MIX) Center, Arizona State University. Prior to joining ASU, Bola worked as a
Research Assistant at De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom, where he is also
currently completing his PhD at the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development (IESD). As a
researcher, both on his own PhD project and other university projects. Bola's work focuses on
the intersections of Restrictive and Carceral Spaces, Mental Health and Wellbeing and Immersive
and XR Technologies.

In his current role at ASU MIX, Bola leads Immersive Technology related projects, including
facilitating collaboration between faculty, staff and fellows from the MIX Center, ASU Gammage,
ASU California Center, and the School of Arts, Media and Engineering to develop and evaluate
component programs of the XRts initative, including the XRts Fellowship Program, and workbased learning experiences.
